Axia Schools cares for vulnerable kids through partnerships with “Title 1” high schools in the Santa Clarita Valley. Title 1 schools have a population of at least 40% of their students living in low-income families.
Axia partners with local Title 1 schools to support the families caring for their vulnerable students. We do this by working with school social workers to identify current needs and then meeting them through food distributions, gas or grocery gift cards, and connections to available resources.
Axia has also teamed up with school counselors to create a mentorship program that connects students identified as at-risk with local community members who share about their careers and life experiences and provide guidance.
Axia is contracted with the William S. Hart district to run the Cowboy Corner Family Resource Center on the campus of Canyon High School. Nearly 100 students come through our resource center daily to pick up a snack, school supplies, clothing, or personal care items.
We frequently support families by providing food and other supplies for home and assistance with resume creation and job searching. During the holidays, we provide complete Thanksgiving meals (including the turkey!) to hundreds of families and host a Christmas store for students to shop for gifts for their loved ones.
